Description
Frass + zeolite
Bugs Alive ‘Frass’ (or insect poo) is an organic, all-natural insect fertiliser. It is packed full of nutrients, micro-nutrients, beneficial microbes and insect chitin, to improve plant and soil health.
Our Frass is more nutrient-dense than most composts; and comparable to many fertilisers, it is low in Phosphorus, which means it is also great for Australian native plants.
We add Zeolite when our frass is bagged. Zeolite holds nutrients, reduce leaching and increases plant availability, thus improving yields and reducing fertiliser use.
HOW TO USE FRASS?
- You can mix Frass into soil, or add to water for a spray/watering can.
- There is no smell, it won’t burn your plants (but don’t dump a heap on young leaves), and feels like sand.
Additional Benefits:
Chitin, from the insect exoskeletons and its derivatives, have been shown to induce or enhance natural defensive mechanisms in plants against insects and diseases. They are recognized as plant growth stimulants, fertilisers, and soil conditioning agents (increase beneficial microbes), among other benefits.
Lab testing shows our Frass has loads of beneficial microbes, meaning it’s great for indoor plants, vegetables, herbs, seedlings or lawns. Use small amounts regularly for best results.
Our Frass packaging is 100% compostable! So, when you’re finished, you bury or compost the paper bag. Thus, completing the ‘circular economy’ and wasting absolutely nothing!
Lab testing shows the nutrient content of our great fertiliser.
